I was browsing around looking for more funny and random things to ask Google Assistant and Google Home. And then I found this. You can use “OK Boo Boo” as a wake command for your Google Home.
At first, I thought it is a joke. I decided to give it a try anyway. I said OK Boo Boo and both my Pixelbook and Google Home Mini lit up. That’s interesting.
Now, let me see if it really works, I thought. I said Boo Boo again, followed by a command, “OK Boo Boo, sing a song”. It worked like normal.
Go ahead and give it a try and let me know if it works for you as well. When you comment, please mention if this was on a phone or a Google Home device. That will be interesting to know.
Okay Boo Boo
Now that we know that saying Boo Boo works, it is time to figure out this “Boo Boo” is all about. The best I could find was from the Urban Dictionary:
1 The name of someone you care about, like a child or your man
2 a name a girl will call yah if you say sumthin she think is wrong
Then there is this:
Boo Boo is the fifth studio album by Toro y Moi, released on July 7, 2017 via Carpark. “Girl Like You” was the first single from the album and was released on June 9, 2017. Wikipedia
Do you know what makes me really excited about this command? The fun that my daughter is going to have when I tell her that she can say Okay Boo Boo instead of Okay Google. Maybe I should record a video of her saying Boo Boo for the first time?
Do you have other weird Google Home and Google Assistant voice commands that I can try? Let me know in the comments section.
